Become Mental Health Aware
(face-to-face and online delivery)
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course that teaches you how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill-health and provide help on a first aid basis, even in a crisis situation. It won't teach you to be a counsellor, therapist or diagnostician but will teach you how to listen, reassure and respond.
Training is delivered by quality trainers who have completed the MHFA England Instructor Training programme, which is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
The Adult Half Day MHFA course is an introductory 4 hour course designed to raise awareness of mental health and related topics. It is delivered through a mix of presentations, group discussions, activities and videos.
You will finish the course as Mental Health Aware and is designed to give you:
An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma
A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues
An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing
Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue
Attendee numbers are recommended at a minimum of 6 and maximum of 25 per group and each will receive:
